How Tennessee car donation works (3 steps)

  1. Submit the form or call us

Tell us about the vehicle: year, make, model, condition, and your Tennessee ZIP. Our intake team confirms by phone within one business day.

  2. We send a flatbed at no cost

Pickup typically 24–48 hours in Tennessee metros, 3–5 business days in rural areas. The driver brings paperwork and a paper receipt.

  3. You receive IRS Form 1098-C

Within 30 days of the vehicle's sale, we mail or email your official tax receipt. Most vehicles sell within 60 days of pickup.

Tennessee title transfer process

Tennessee titles all vehicles. To donate, complete the 'Transfer of Ownership' section on the back of the title and sign with the odometer reading. Lost titles can be replaced at any County Clerk office for $14. Tennessee also allows a bonded title path for vehicles where the previous title cannot be located.

Tennessee tax deduction notes

Tennessee has no state income tax (the Hall income tax on interest/dividends was fully phased out in 2021), so your federal deduction is the entirety of your tax savings. For itemizing donors at the 22% federal bracket, a $2,000 deduction saves $440.

For full federal rules see IRS Publication 4303 — A Donor's Guide to Vehicle Donations.
