Title Transfer Fee
DMV charge for processing a title change — typically waived or paid by charity in donations.
What it means
Most states charge $5-$75 to process a title transfer. In vehicle donations, the charity (or its auction buyer) typically absorbs this fee — you do not pay it as a donor. Some states require a notarized title; the towing partner often handles notarization on the spot or at a nearby station.
