Percent to Program
Of every dollar raised through vehicle sales, the portion that funds the actual charity mission.
What it means
Of every dollar from vehicle sales, a percentage covers towing, auction fees, paperwork, and overhead. The remainder funds the mission (children's services, in our case). Highly-publicized national vehicle donation programs sometimes route less than 30% to mission; smaller direct programs frequently route 65-85% to mission. Always ask for the figure before donating.
