The IRS designation for tax-exempt charitable organizations eligible to receive tax-deductible donations.
What it means
Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code defines qualified charitable organizations. Only 501(c)(3) charities can issue tax-deductible donation receipts.
