Total Loss Threshold

State-mandated percentage where a vehicle must be declared a total loss.

What it means

Each state sets its own total-loss threshold: from 50% (Iowa) to 100% (some states use 'total loss formula' rather than percentage). Georgia uses TLF: salvage if repair cost + salvage value ≥ ACV. Lower thresholds mean more vehicles get totaled and end up donated.
