Georgia donation checklist
Submit the real vehicle details
Provide the year, make, model, condition, exact pickup ZIP, access, keys, title owner, and lien status. A request is not accepted until we review it.
Wait for pickup confirmation
Statewide availability does not mean a fixed pickup time in every county. The vehicle, access, title status, and partner route determine scheduling.
Follow the title instructions for your case
The Georgia Department of Revenue says ownership-transfer requirements vary by situation. Do not sign a blank title or assume a generic power-of-attorney or bonded-title path applies.
Handle registration separately
Georgia DOR states that an owner transferring a vehicle must transfer ownership and cancel the vehicle's registration. Follow the current DOR process and do not cancel insurance before cancellation if doing so could trigger a state penalty.
Keep the charity acknowledgment
We provide the required acknowledgment and, when applicable, Form 1098-C information. A federal deduction is not automatic; it depends on IRS rules, documentation, disposition, and the donor's return.
Georgia title facts worth checking
The Georgia Department of Revenue says titles are generally required for 1986-or-newer vehicles, while titles may be optional for some 1985-or-older vehicles that were previously titled. For a lost Georgia title, the state publishes a replacement-title process and notes that added requirements can apply for liens, deceased owners, name changes, and titles lost before transfer.

Tax documentation
If an accepted vehicle is sold in an arm's-length transaction, the federal deduction is generally limited to gross sale proceeds. The IRS has limited exceptions and a special rule for vehicles sold for $500 or less. Read our source-backed car-donation tax guide and consult a tax professional for your return.
Pickup coverage
We review requests throughout Georgia, including North Georgia, metro Atlanta, Athens, Augusta, Macon, Columbus, Savannah, and rural counties. Exact coverage and timing are confirmed after review; this page does not claim local offices in those cities.
