The transparency report.
Most national-brand vehicle-donation charities won't publish this page. We do. Here's where every dollar goes, who runs us, and why we operate differently.
Who we are
Cars Helping Kids is the vehicle-donation program of Fainting Goat Foundation, a Georgia 501(c)(3) nonprofit. EIN: 99-0472123. Headquartered in Gainesville, Georgia. Verify our status at the IRS Tax-Exempt Organization Search.
We accept vehicle donations nationwide and arrange free pickup. Net proceeds fund programs for children and families primarily in communities we serve — backpacks and school supplies, weekend food bags, after-school tutoring, holiday assistance, winter coats.
How donations flow
1. You submit your vehicle through our form or by phone.
2. Local towing partner picks up at no cost to you.
3. Vehicle is sold at auction (retail or salvage, depending on condition).
4. Charity receives net proceeds after auction fees and tow costs.
5. Donor receives IRS Form 1098-C showing the gross sale price within 30 days of sale.
6. Net proceeds (after operational costs) fund children's services programs across the country.
Why our percentage-to-program is structurally higher
We do not spend on national TV advertising. No jingle. No Super Bowl ad. No celebrity endorsement.
We do not have a parent religious-outreach organization that receives donations downstream.
We do not route donations through a for-profit intermediary that keeps 50-60% as a fee.
Our marketing budget is local + organic search. Most of our donors find us through Google or a referral, not paid national TV.
Our overhead is minimal: pickup logistics, auction fees, paperwork processing, basic staff. That's it.
