Tax deduction for Vermont donors
Vermont state income tax 3.35-8.75%. Your federal tax deduction equals the actual sale price of the vehicle at auction. Cars Helping Kids is a Georgia 501(c)(3) charity (program of Fainting Goat Foundation); donations from any US state qualify for the federal charitable deduction if you itemize.
If you itemize federally and Vermont has an income tax, the deduction typically flows to your state return as well. Consult a tax preparer for state-specific details.
What vehicles we accept in Vermont
Cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, RVs, boats, jet skis, ATVs, trailers, and select commercial equipment — running or not, with or without clean title (varies by state). Even damaged vehicles (flood, fire, accident) are accepted; they sell at salvage auction.
