Hawaii title transfer
Hawaii titles are processed through the Hawaii Department of Customer Services (DMV). To donate, sign the title in the "transfer of title by seller" section and hand it to our towing partner at pickup. Each state has specific paperwork requirements which our intake specialist walks through when you call.
If you've lost your Hawaii title, contact the Hawaii Department of Customer Services (DMV) for a duplicate before scheduling pickup. Most states issue duplicates within 7-15 business days for a small fee.
Tax deduction for Hawaii donors
Hawaii state income tax 1.4-11%. Your federal tax deduction equals the actual sale price of the vehicle at auction. Cars Helping Kids is a Georgia 501(c)(3) charity (program of Fainting Goat Foundation); donations from any US state qualify for the federal charitable deduction if you itemize.
If you itemize federally and Hawaii has an income tax, the deduction typically flows to your state return as well. Consult a tax preparer for state-specific details.
What vehicles we accept in Hawaii
Cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, RVs, boats, jet skis, ATVs, trailers, and select commercial equipment — running or not, with or without clean title (varies by state). Even damaged vehicles (flood, fire, accident) are accepted; they sell at salvage auction.
